A Vision that Supports and Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals for social and economic justice through education.
I hope this message finds the intending students, filled with enthusiasm for the transformative role that education can play in shaping the future of our nation. Today, we wish to delve deeper into the crucial role that non-academic education plays in the holistic development of our students, aligning our vision with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the verticals of the UN Global Compact in human capacity development through ethical consumerism.
At the forefront of our efforts to redefine education is the Research Institute for Standards in Islam (RISIS), a beacon of innovation and dedication. RISIS, with its commitment to excellence, stands as a key proponent in advancing educational methodologies that not only embrace academic brilliance but also emphasize the cultivation of well-rounded individuals who embody the principles set forth by the UN SDGs.
The UN SDGs serve as a blueprint for a sustainable and inclusive future, covering diverse aspects of social, economic, and environmental development. RISIS, in its pursuit of excellence, is not only committed to academic rigor but also to nurturing individuals who are socially responsible, culturally aware, and environmentally conscious – values that resonate with the UN SDGs.
Furthermore, our support for the UN Global Compact signifies our commitment to aligning educational goals with broader societal aspirations. RISIS, through its various programs and initiatives, actively incorporates the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, focusing on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. By doing so, we strive to instil these principles into the very fabric of our non-academic educational system, preparing our students to be ethical leaders and responsible global citizens.
RISIS recognizes that character development is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Through a myriad of innovative programs, extracurricular activities, and community engagements, we tailor our efforts to ensure that students not only excel academically but also develop the character traits essential for success in the 21st century.
Our commitment to fostering character goes beyond the classroom, encompassing values such as empathy, resilience, and leadership. By integrating these principles into our educational framework, RISIS aspires to contribute to the development of a generation that is not only equipped with knowledge and skills but is also driven by a strong moral compass.
As we embark on this transformative journey, let us remain steadfast in our dedication to providing a holistic education that empowers individuals to thrive in a complex and interconnected world. Together, we can shape the future of Malaysia, instilling in our students the values and skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to society, both locally and globally.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in education.
Yours sincerely,
D.S. Izham Nayan (D.S.N.M., D.K.N.M., A.M.T.)
